A walk to remember

Sunday
I mentioned wanting to write a card for LKY because he was still hospitalised and I thought he could use some support from the members of the public so Jiayan and I already decided on going to the hospital on Wednesday


Monday
I woke up to the really sad news of his passing so I cried :'( Every article, video related to the topic just made me tear. Not to mention, when I pass by the crowd at the istana while on my way to SMU :(
So I spent most of my day watching the news and documentaries related to LKY

I was deeply saddened by his passing because I had so many ideas on how to draw up my card and the content of my card. I wanted to write about how he needs to get well so that he can be there to celebrate SG50 which coincides with my anniversary with Justin and it will really make that day a lot more meaningful (not so much to him because why would he care about my anniversary hahahahha but to me lahh) :/

Wednesday
I cannot believe I stayed through 4+/5 hours of queuing for the parliament! On this day, I am thankful for a few things

1. that I had lunch before going, so I remained sufficiently full throughout the queuing
2. that I brought an umbrella to shelter myself from the scorching sun, but I lent it to the old man who was in front of me anyway
3. for good company. I went with Jiayan because I didn't know anyone else who might want to go, except maybe Daphne? (because we took the same SS module together hahahahha so I thought this seemed SS-related enough for the SS trio) You know you cannot spend 5 hours of queuing under the sun with just any one~ 
4. for the free iced water given out by various companies for us to quench our thirst and also the chairs and fans
5. for friends who were proud of me and happy for me (and also Justin <3 Thanks for not judging hahahah)
6. for a country that makes me feel safe and secure
7. and lastly, for our founding father who made all this possible (definitely not a one-man show but we cannot discount or deny his efforts for what we have today)

Friday (today)

I went to school for a test which I believe I did badly for then I met JR at Cityhall for about 1-2 hours (we met up to have snacks. She had her waffle and we sat at some place to have pau and drinks - I had a hot drink as usual :) and as usual, whoever I am dining with will ask "Why you drink hot drink when it is already so hot?" and then I will reply "It is hot outside so I will not drink it outside but we are in an air conditioned place so that calls for a hot drink!" 理直气壮) before going back to Buona Vista for dinner with Jiayan and Daphne. I think we spent nearly 3 hours at Owl? We didn't eat a lot (I think?) but it was a good catch up and we talked about the usual people and some stuff about life and how we sometimes meet people but they disappear from our lives and we don't know why and how to deal with shitty scenarios like this blah blah blah

I'm finally at the end of the week. I feel like I haven't accomplished much this week - the biggest achievement having been queuing for the parliament (I'm soooo glad I did it. I really hate queuing and crowds and the sun which makes me perspire and thus, dirty but I knew I had to go for just this one and I did!)
